I have a S&W Model 17-4 with a 8 3/8" barrel I bought new in the '70s. It's the most accurate hand gun I've ever shot. I had a target trigger & target hammer put on it by a gunsmith right after I got it. It's one I'll never sell.
Agreed, mine will someday go to my son. Until then it will have a good long life at my side. Had I not wanted a scope for the competition ,I would have absolutely taken my 8 inch model 17.
My son will likely get mine too when I'm done with it. The only other firearms of mine he's really said he'd like to have is my Marlin 336A 24" barrel 30-30 and my Ruger GP 100 6" barrel .357 magnum. I've had both of those for a long time too. We've both hunted with and harvested deer with that old Marlin.

That custom Single Six is so cool! Also, thanks for the heads up on Weig-a-tinny. I had never heard of them before.
Love to hear that, thanks so much
Did you do any trigger work on your Simgle-Six?
I do trigger jobs on all Rugers, but I think that on this particular one I just reduced creep and left it at that. If I remember correctly.
